After the convention, when the party is united

will Sanders then campaign for Clinton, the way she did in 2008 for Obama? Will he tell his supporters to vote for her?

Or will he then, "remember" that he is not a Democrat, never campaigned for a Democrat (did he) so will just collect his marbles and Jane and go home to Vermont?

The fact that he decided to run for President as a Democrat should mean something and I really hope both he and his supporters follow through.

He is not known for helping others. He may give the obligatory nod but won't go much beyond that as it is contrary to his rhetoric his lemmings thrive on.

Just speaking for myself here, but he's said some things now that can't be walked back. Things that will be featured in Republican attack ads in the fall. Things he should have known better than to say, especially if he was actually trying to run a positive campaign (his biggest lie of the primary, at this point).

Not to mention, stumping for Clinton is not the same damn speech he's repeated 4,000 times since last year. Sanders doesn't do well when speaking outside of his one speech. What makes us think that his mumbling and stumbling through interview after interview trying to take back all the negative things he and his campaign said is going to in any way look good for Clinton?

If he had actually run a positive campaign, instead of the actual shitshow he presided over, he might have been valuable. But he went negative, and now I'm not so sure he'd make a good campaign surrogate. I'm sure there are expectations of him, but I don't see Sanders having the character to follow through on promises he made. I'm still concerned he's going to run 3rd party.

He's lied about everything else, why should that be any different?

His rational supporters will close ranks around our nominee. His less than rational supporters wouldn't have voted for Hillary anyway, no matter what Bernie said.

but with a desire to keep Trump and Cruz from the White House, or will they, like the Naderites in 2000 and the anti Humphrey in 1968 will smugly claim that they "stand for principles" and the rest of us can cope with the fallout.

I expect that he will give an endorsement - trying to be a good sportsman.
But, he will do little more than that.

I think that most of his supporters will vote for Clinton.

I think that minority who won't vote for her will either stay home or vote for someone like Stein.
