Man..never left the main topic room..

Today I simply posted a thread claiming that Hillary is evolving at the same pace which the Republican's is imploding. I went on to say that I fear that the Right Wing Billionaire club will spend countless millions on framing Bernie as a Marxist Socialist and that our ill informed electorate might just suck it all in... I love Bernie, I just fear he can’t win the General.. it’s a frightening concept that the House, Senate and Presidency could be controlled by teabagger/republicans...Real frightening..

Well the contempt which was thrown at me was real over the top.. Of course I was immediately blocked and a few words of disdain were thrown out at me...but I have a hard time understanding the anger and hostility which is thrown at Clinton supporters on this site.. It has happened quite a few times to me now and I’m getting the feeling that Bernie Supporters are really a group of angry, intolerant, My way is the only way..members..

Lastly, they never acknowledge the fact in any manner that I always in my threads state that I love Bernie.. I still get attacked, they ignore that part.. I just don’t think he can win the G.E.

I wonder if a lot of these people are older and are pretty secure with Medicare and Social Security plus other income sources..

Because if I was 60 and below I’d be really frightened at the possibility of a Tea Party Controlled govt.

who aren't worried about a radical republican being elected president.

They got the huge 401k's, bank accounts, and high paying jobs already.

Its working stiffs like me that have social security only in a few years that are scared to death of a full on teahaddist government in charge.

4. I think a lot of the Bernie fans may be reliving the lost dreams of 50 years ago and need an enemy

to focus on equal to the enemies of the '60's to rekindle the flames.

That their chosen enemy is Clinton rather than the true enemy, the GOP, I have no explanation for.

5. It's a doubling down on the purist notions

they have of themselves. Hillary doesn't deserve their vote. She hasn't EARNED it. So any notion that Bernie's "progressive" purity is compromised, either by his own actions or current position, has to be eliminated.

I was called a liar and hidden for stating the fact that Bernie Sanders has won Democratic primaries, then turned down the nomination to run as an independent in the general.

Anything good Hillary has done is an cynical act. Any personality quirk is a character flaw. They rely upon the MSM Clinton Rules and attribute that to self-inflicted wounds.

Kind of like--Look at what she was wearing. She was asking for it.

6. Yes, I almost never go to GD anymore, it has been taken over by Bernie posters.

Like you I admire Bernie and can support many of his positions, but the vitriol one encounters if you disagree with one aspect of a Bernie poster's comment, or offer a positive Hillary counterpoint, is not worth the effort. It's very disheartening and frankly turning me off to Bernie.

It's so predictable what happened to you with the post you made.. I've seen it so many times. Same shite different day.

P.S. they don't think you really "love Bernie" or you wouldn't be saying anything negative(that he can't win) about him. End of story. That's their MO.

9. I am beginning to agree with you.

At first, I thought many of them were just the typical purists who show up on DU. They have never really worked an election. They have learned their politics from poli-sci classes and textbooks. They think is it just fine to argue about social justice and racial justice, to parse and slice words. All the while, real people are being murdered by cops and losing their jobs. They are going bankrupt over health care costs. They can't take care of their children.

And, of course, there are the trolls. There are just more of them this time than is typical during primary season. Some are paid, some not.

Now I wonder. Many of them are just as angry and irrational as Trump's supporters. They need a target. Trump supporters target illegal immigrants, minorities, Muslims, etc. Bernie's target banksters, the 1%, Wall Street and the other usual suspects. While I agree with those targets, there is a better way to solve those problems than anger at Hillary and worship for a candidate who will lose in a landslide and make every teahadist dream come true. Both groups of supporters are filled with anger and irrational hate.

The more I see, the less I respect Sanders. Surely he knows how a large number of his supporters are behaving. His supporters talk of Hillary surrogates and shills while doing the work of the right wing and being surrogates and shills on Bernie's behalf.

I would also invite you to spend some time in the AA forum. Lots to learn there.
