Hillary Clinton Terrifies Republicans With A Presidential Performance At CNN Town Hall

Despite the hyperbolic headline, I believe that the article is essentially correct.

Republicans should be very afraid because Hillary Clinton delivered nothing less than a presidential performance at the CNN Democratic Town Hall.

http://www.politicususa.com/2016/01/25/hillary-clinton-terrifies-republicans-presidential-performance-cnn-town-hall.html

Former Sec. Clinton was asked how voters can be sure that income inequality will be a top priority for her. She talked about her decades of fighting for equality in all areas. She said, “I have a really long history of taking on all inequality.” One thing that is becoming clear is a lot of younger voters might not be familiar with Clinton and her record.

Her next question was a foreign policy question that asked where she stood on a scale from 1-10 on military intervention. She said that she thinks it is imperative to avoid military action, which should only be used as a last resort, not a first choice. Clinton repeated her promise of no American ground forces in Syria and Iraq. Speaking of Iraq, Clinton said that he has more of record of judgement than one vote on the war in Iraq. She repeated for roughly the billionth time that her vote for the Iraq war was a mistake.

...
Clinton was played Bernie Sanders’ America ad. She responded that she loved it. Clinton said that you in campaign poetry and govern in prose. She said we need more poetry like the Sanders ad.

Former Sec. Clinton was asked which former president inspired her most, and she answered Abraham Lincoln.

Hillary Clinton’s performance at the CNN Town Hall was nothing less than presidential level. Clinton was intelligent, passionate, and it was clear that there is not another candidate in this race that possesses her level of knowledge.

As with the debates, this town hall showed that the real losers are GOPers.

Clinton brought up the great point that we had a terrorist threat long before President Obama came into office. (We had a terrorist threat on 9/11). Her mention of 9/11 was a suggestion that George W. Bush dropped the ball on keeping America safe.

Excellent Hillary! We had Terrorism on 9/11.. that bush2 didn't seem to have any interest in preventing. In fact lied and used it to invade the wrong country.

Here on DU ... O'Malley wasn't on the stage and HRC, alternated between hysteria and depressive withdrawal, while Bernie was his usual pitch perfect self, with angels punctuating his every word.

These Bernie supporters don't respect boundaries. They can barely contain their disdain for everything and everyone who doesn't conform to their myopic worldview as it is, but the ugliness really comes out during election years.

They give Clinton softball questions and attack Bernie about his age and call him a "socialist". He is a Democratic socialist but they don't present it that way. The Iowa Dems and corporate DNC want Hillary badly. She has little integrity at this point and poor judgement to boot. Bernie may be our last hope to save democracy from the oligarchs and corporations that control most everything now. They can rig debates and forums but it can't hide who she is and what she stands for.

candidate. But this is the Hillary Clinton Group. Playing a Bernie victim card here is not appropriate.

You have the rest of DU where you can rail against Hillary, but please, not here. We are firmly in her corner; we have very good reasons for being here, and we are for the most part lifelong Dems who have actually walked the walk instead of just talking the talk. Most importantly, we are not budging from HRC as our first choice in the primaries.

No way. No how.

Can we now safely assume that the propaganda is being catapulted from the very top?

I've never seen anything like it from the American Left - notorious for nuanced intellectual disagreements, as opposed to lockstep collectivist sloganeering. It's a bit authoritarian, neh?

haven't been paying attention. Good thing the majority of Democrats and Liberals have, and they'll drown out your vote in the upcoming elections.

There's a reason why the RW are supporting Bernie's campaign with dollars, tweets, and op-eds.

Unlike you, Republican strategists understand the political game and how to win it, and they know Bernie is the easiest to beat because he's failed to win the support of Blacks and Latinos - must-have demographics for any Democrat to win the election. This makes Bernie a WEAK candidate.

Hillary Clinton, on the other hand, is a formidable opponent who can wipe the floor with each and every one of their Koch-puppet candidates.

any one of our excellent Dem candidates. As would I.

But Hillary is MY first choice and this is the Hillary Clinton Group. It's our party here and we'll praise our candidate and those who recognize her abilities here if we want to.

If this were in GD-P, that would be one thing, which is exactly why I did not post this article there. But this group is something else. So unless you can say something kind about Hillary here, please remain silent and pass on by.

He didn't miss a beat - he was eloquent and passionate and vibrant.

Some DINO interloper pops up and offers "guns and free stuff" - and O'Malley becomes 'the third wheel.'

We'll see if Democrats come out of the wood work in Iowa and New Hampshire and get back to reality.

I enjoyed all three democratic presidential candidates. But for me HRC was electrifying! yet she was also calm and sure. I felt proud to have such different choices from the Republican Party and proud of my choice Secretary Clinton!

New to the boards but so glad there is a spot for HRC supporters. Was reading the latest threads for a few months and found demoralizing the Bernie supporters. I like and respect their candidate but am choosing HRC!

Bernie supporters on DU - at least those who post often - outnumber HRC supporters approximately 6:1 per Skinner. Unfortunately, there is a highly vocal group of them that prefer to trash HRC rather than to stress their candidate's strengths. They have so turned me off that I will vote to support MOM rather than SBS should - god forbid - anything happen to our best and strongest candidate. As for the GE, I will always support the Dem over any GOPer.

I also believe that MOM has every one of SBS's strengths with none of his baggage/liabilities. If HRC hadn't run, I would have been in MOM"s corner from the get-go. He was my Gov and a very good one.

The imbalance of Bernie to HRC supporters on DU is why I have taken to posting OPs and commenting much more often than I ever have. But because I believe that my candidate is being unfairly and deliberately trashed almost everywhere else, I post most OPs about HRC here rather than in GD-P, where the CDS swarm comes out in force.

If you are an HRC supporter, the HRC Group is - or supposed to be - a "safe" area. As you can see, some SBS supporters came over here to leave droppings anyway, although some may have done so without realizing that they were here. They are welcome if they can keep away from the HRC slurs. If not, NO. NOT AT ALL.

The only forum that I actually belong to is the AA Group. I am not a POC, but those persons who post there - of whatever ethnicity and whichever candidate they support - have some of the most interesting discussions on DU these days.

I agree! I have been reading the DU threads for years on and off. The reason I am finally a newby is b/c I think HRC deserves to be defended and endorsed. Voting for her in the primaries. She has accomplished so much throughout her whole life! I can see why she and Bill paired up in life. They are both smart people who see the big picture. Even though they have been attacked for so long they stay calm and never hateful. We should learn from them.

Wish the Bernie people would learn from their own candidate. He also seems to be a fair person.

Will check the AA Group.

Good luck to us!
