Democratic presidential contender Hillary Clinton meets Iowa voters at Adel Family Fun Center in Adel, Iowa on Wednesday. (Melina Mara/The Washington Post)

ADEL, Iowa Hillary Clintons voice thundered through a bowling alley as she railed against corporate treachery and greed then turned soft and thoughtful as she promised to work my heart out if elected.
Clinton barely mentioned Sen. Bernie Sanders, her rival for the Democratic presidential nomination, during the appearance Wednesday morning, though her angry rant against corporate inversion deals and prescription drug price-gouging borrowed a leaf from his populist playbook.
Here in the final, five-day sprint of an uncomfortably close Democratic contest in Iowa, Clinton has largely abandoned a strategy that appears to have done little to improve her standing with voters here: trying to directly discredit the senator from Vermont and his unstintingly liberal proposals......................

(1,968 posts)I thought Bernie was going to run a clean campaign, without SuperPAC influence?
Why, whatever happened to that?
Does this make him the first candidate to break two campaign promises before the campaign is really even underway? Certainly I no longer trust a word out of him.
As for Mrs. Clinton, of course she chose the high road. She's poling well, the e-mail scandal may HELP her on Monday (it couldn't be more transparently a Friday Surprise), and she's actually a Democrat.
I wish the Big Dog would come out and call Bernie on his cheating. Disgusting, to borrow a phrase.

You won't hear a word until the Primary is over...and that's probably a good thing. Certainly the ethical thing.

Somebody must have some bad internal polling, and it's not Hillary.

(70,381 posts)Hillary's strategy --keep the attacks on the Republicans. I saw a speech late last week--she did not seem herself--'contrasting' hers and Sanders policies. More herself just talking about her policies and then answering questions--which she is very good at.

So far, I've been accused twice today online of being shrill and clearly panicky about Iowa by Bernie supporters.
This is an excellent sign. Projection and deflection are two things you'll often see when they know their own side is weakened severely.
