Boom! Hillary just hit the magic number!

She is now +453 for Super Tuesday, which means she will exceed her demographic-adjusted target and pull even farther away from Bernie.

Now to go for the second magic number, +478, beyond which Bernie can no longer achieve a win under his worst case scenario.

Wikipedia (following the DNC and DelegateTracker) have her at 544, while Huffpost has her at 554. DelegateTracker has it at a beautiful 1001 with Supers.

RrealClearPolitics shows Hillary winning 543 delegates through Super Tuesday with Bernie winning 349 so far.

So how does that 478 number figure into this?

by a Bernie supporter at Dailykos.com named MattTX, who calculated a few scenarios under which Bernie could still win. His worst case scenario had Hillary winning no more than 478 delegates on Super Tuesday. At last check, she took 505.

... and will hold on with all his might as the rope of possibility continues to slip through his rope burned hands until he reached the end of that rope and falls. Even then many take quite some time to hit the ground of reality hard enlighten to come to their senses.

With Bernie, it is more than that. I think he will continue his campaign as long has he can persuade his donors to keep sending him money to continue his quixotic quest. He is a true believer and his candidacy is a platform from which he can continue to preach his message of revolution and he won't give that up until he absolutely can go no further. And that's probably until the convention.

Realistically, however, it would involve some kind of catastrophe (which Bernie fans are hoping for and/or expecting in the form of an indictment for . . . something).

They're currently giving her +486 (the math is pretty arcane, I'm sure), so she soared past the second target and is still going...with delegates still out to be apportioned!

Pledged delegates to Sanders is 397. Super Delegates to Sanders is 21. That gives Sanders a total of 418.
