Omaha (NE) World-Herald Endorses Hillary Clinton

While both Hillary Clinton and Bernie Sanders bring strengths and weaknesses, caucus-goers would help their party most by giving their support to Hillary Clinton.

Sanders, the Vermont senator and self-proclaimed democratic socialist, has given voice to those on the left who are as angry with “the system” as are some Donald Trump voters on the right. Sanders’ straight talk and spurning of special-interest political action committee donations have helped rally enthusiastic younger voters.

At the same time, his strong ideological bent hampers his ability to build needed coalitions, while promises of free college tuition and a single-payer health care system are unrealistic. His lack of foreign policy expertise is worrisome.

In her second try for the White House, Clinton brings a lifetime of public service to her quest, along with the considerable voter energy generated by the prospect of electing the nation’s first woman president...
