problem with that, among some.

I agree with you that the source may have issues, though there are legitimate questions that have been raised about his activities back then, and they were even brought up in the debate in Florida. One thing you can bet on though, if Sanders was the Democratic nominee, this past would be out 24/7 on the news cycle

She made an honest mistake. Nancy Reagan advocated against drug use and brought awareness to other illnesses, and Hillary got some information from memory while speaking off the cuff crossed up. It happens. She has apologized for the error. Why the hell is this even a story? Even brilliant people make honest mistakes. She was trying to honor a deceased former and fellow First Lady and got something mixed up. She wasn't even talking about herself. This is NOTHING.

You know another president who wasn't afraid to admit they were wrong and try something else? It was FDR. Thank you Hillary, I know where your heart is. I was a nurse during the beginning of the AIDS epidemic in the 80's, and Reagan has so many deaths on his soul including that of my brother in law, whom I loved dearly. I knew by that time that we were dealing with something that was being transmitted via blood or fluids, and felt helpless as I would give blood products to my patients, including young people receiving Factor8 because of hemophilia. I watched as other nurses would refuse to take care of AIDS patients for the irrational fear of it being transmitted by just touching someone with the disease. What a horrible, awful, desperate time, and we had a government that was non-cooperative to the fullest and cost thousands of people their lives. I post this in memory of my brother Ron, I love you.

policies. Literally during the Alex P. Keaton Family Ties years. Why the different standard? And don't say because Hillary's running for President, when many of you were salivating for Elizabeth Warren to run and challenge her. NONE of you would have blinked an eye at supporting Warren, despite her support of Reagan.

Oops.. Just realized this isn't GDP. But I'm going to leave this here to point out the hypocrisy of Sanders supporters.

It took me long enough to find you all. I quit reading DU a month ago (the vitriol was out of control), but the "Hillary Group" link was cross-referenced on another article I read yesterday. Please check out this PBS clip, and my apologies if this is already posted up- stream, here. HRC did not just make that statement up, out of whole cloth. By the way, one of the people featured in this account is one of my liberal heroes. His credibility leads me to believe that he would not lie to the public about what his mom did "behind the scenes", as HRC said.

people lost because it took sooooo long for the government to step up, that many just don't want to hear the name Reagan in any form associated with anything positive related to HIV/Aids. She wasn't wrong in saying that Nancy made a difference, but it just isn't a statement that the public wants to hear, when, in truth, the government should have stepped up immediately when people were becoming sick, and they didn't. Nancy and Ron Jr should never have had to step in.
