Hillary Won the Night~"Bernie Sanders Lags Hillary Clinton Despite Winning Two State Caucuses"

Hillary Clinton and Bernie Sanders battled to a split decision in Tuesday’s Democratic contests, but the former secretary of state maintained her commanding lead in the chase for delegates by winning the primary in Arizona, the day’s biggest prize.

Mr. Sanders notched victories in both the Utah and Idaho caucuses, claiming his first states since he scored an upset in Michigan two weeks ago.

Tuesday’s results still left Mr. Sanders behind his Democratic rival in the delegate count, as Arizona offered more delegates than Idaho and Utah combined.

But Mr. Sanders had limped into this leg of the race.

Mrs. Clinton had swept through the South, then won all five states that held primaries last week. While Mr. Sanders has predicted that he would prevail in the second half of the Democratic primary fight, a look at the calendar reveals limited opportunities for the Vermont senator to eat into Mrs. Clinton’s delegate lead.

Mr. Sanders could score several victories in Western states and beyond. But narrowing Mrs. Clinton’s delegate lead will require him to notch landslides that produce big shares of available delegates.

Stan Greenberg, a veteran Democratic pollster, said the race increasingly appears to be settled, making it difficult for Mr. Sanders to change the basic dynamic. The Vermont senator’s failure to win any contest last week could prove to be a defining moment in this campaign, Mr. Greenberg said.

“He lost momentum at that point, and we entered the endgame,” he said. “Unless there’s a huge surprise, it’s not going to happen.”

Hillary's target was 57 which she made. Bernie's target was 74 delegates and he got 73.

A very good night for Hillary!

Bernie Sanders trails Hillary by a very significant number of delegates.

Therefore, Bernie Sanders must win the state with the most delegates tonight. That state is Arizona. He can't just win there by 2 or 3%. He needs to win convincingly.

Besides that, he must win Idaho and Utah by a large margin. You don't catch up by scoring small victories.

I expect Sanders supporters and the media to act as if winning two states out of three represents a huge victory for Sanders, regardless of the margin of victory. Because 2 is a bigger number than 1.

Another prediction. Remember how Michigan was said to be more important than Mississippi because Michigan was the "biggest prize"?

Tonight it will not matter that Arizona is the biggest prize, UNLESS Bernie wins AZ. If Hillary wins Arizona, the media and Bernie supporters will prefer the"number of states" approach.

The media will pick whatever narrative boosts their favorite candidate, Bernie Sanders.

One final prediction: If old people prefer Hillary and young people prefer Bernie tonight, the media will write articles about young people only (OMG MILLENNIALS!) because who cares about those old farts.

Old news but fun to read!

It's just weird anymore.
But I do believe he's losing the Primary because of his incitement to anger. Well, that and lack of Presidential competancy.
I have no idea what he's doing in this 2016 race. He'd be the worst leader ever

I went to bed--extremely late--thrilled with a one state win out of three, and with a smaller number of delegates. Why?

I can do math, that's why. She hit her targets, there was no net change in the race, and that's not good enough by far for Bernie right now!

No wonder I'm happy today.
