Migrant crisis: Pope to visit troubled Lesbos next week

7 April 2016
From the section Europe

Pope Francis will visit the Greek island of Lesbos on 16 April to meet migrants, in a sign of concern about Europe's handling of the crisis.

The Vatican said the Pope had been invited to Lesbos by the Eastern Orthodox Patriarch, Bartholomew I.

It was a gesture of "solidarity" with migrants - many of them Syrian refugees - in a "difficult, dramatic situation" in the region, the Vatican said.

leaves the USA on the 15th, he'll arrive in Rome on the 16th. That is if he flys commercial. So there ya go, no Pope. (of course, he could fly on a private jet, but wouldn't that wreck his cleaner than clean, purer than pure image?)

bringing more attention to his own faith, which he has been downplaying for the entire election cycle. He clearly knows that it is a big turn off for many voters, and seems to be fine letting people assume his is religiously Jewish.

This is why his recent lies and attacks are relevant. He describes his faith in terms of morality. Yeah, right.

How disgusting to use a religions to further your political ambitions. I bet he'll end up not going. He's not going to get anything out of going to a academic conference except losing a couple of days of campaigning.

Jeff Weaver outsmarted himself, which to be fair is pretty easy to do.
