Related: About this forumLET GO: The Media’s Futile Obsession with Hillary’s ‘Likability’
How many times do we have to hear about polls that tell us Hillary Clinton, Gallups most admired woman for 20 years, is unlikable? Its almost as though the media and pundits want to convince us Hillary is disliked so they can excuse their own spin.
Another day, another poll about how allegedly unlikable Hillary Clinton is.
I understand that measuring likability is a traditional part of U.S. politics, and its not something that was invented just for Hillary Clinton. But theres a very particular way in which likability polling seems to be used against Hillary, in a way that it isnt against other candidates.
Donald Trump, for example, gets poor likability ratings, but they are filtered through a media that have spent an enormous amount of time treating his disgusting campaign of bigotry and braggadocio like a summer parade down Main Street. When Trumps low favorable ratings are mentioned, it is almost a curiosity. Hes very unlikablebut hes still crushing it!
Hillarys likability, on the other hand, is rarely discussed within the framework that shes winning, despite leading the Democratic primary by more than two million votes. Instead, the numbers are regurgitated in a recursive loop of conventional wisdom that she isnt likable.

OP
It's a construct of those who oppose her. It has nothing to do with her qualifications.

It's like a ridiculous negative feedback loop that goes nowhere. I'm so tired of the mindless regurgitation just like the perception that she's "dishonest" and "untrustworthy". If enough people say it, it must be true? I wish people would think for themselves!

Take for example how W was the "most likeable" and how many people polled indicated that he was the candidate they'd most like to have a beer with. (And we see where THAT got us.)

The media is obsessed with it and the Sanders supporters perpetuate it, yet she wins votes.
Either voters don't care or they say she is unlikable because they have heard it so so many times it must be true.
