Other nine workers were detained as well

Ten workers of the Venezuelan oil industry, including the secretary general of the United Federation of Oil-Sector Workers of Venezuela (Futpv), José Bodas, were detained early on Monday after demanding the signing of a new collective bargaining agreement. The last agreement expired in October 2013.

Sources explained that the arrest took place during a general assembly held at the gates of Puerto La Cruz refinery, northeast Venezuela.

The action set off the alarms among different unions.
