http://www.eluniversal.com/economia/140401/four-minimum-wages-needed-to-meet-basic-expenses-in-venezuela

Venezuela's food, goods, and services basket averaged USD 1,954, up 3.2% (USD 60) with respect to January, when it hit USD 1,894, the Workers Center for Documentation and Social Analysis (Cenda) informed.

Six out of seven groups comprising the basic basket climbed: housing (5.6%), education (4%), health (3.7%), food (2.9%), personal care and home cleaning items (1.1%), clothes and shoes (0.8%).

In order to afford the basic of food and services, almost four minimum wages (the minimum wage stands at USD 519) were needed in February.

In the case of food, the price of 10 out of 11 items of the basic food basket went up in February, with the basket totaling USD 1,082.

What would life be like for them if a billionaire had only, say, only 600 million. It would be devastating. Or having only half of your savings in offshore accounts? Where is the humanity in that? There are just too many reasons to keep the vast majorities in poverty. The rich are just too darn special.
