Long-time Terrorist Commandos Intended to Attack Cuba Again

Long-time Terrorist Commandos Intended to Attack Cuba Again

{snips}
Havana, May 7 (Prensa Latina) The detention of a commando group from the United States that intended to carry out violent acts in Cuba, shows Washington''s double standard policy on its so-called "War on Terror".
- -
The Cuban Interior Ministry announced here the arrest of four Cuban-born U.S. citizens residing in Miami, who recognized their objective was to attack Cuban military facilities.
- -
The District Attorney's Office did not present terrorist charges against them, in exchange for the return of 30 automatic and semi-automatic machine guns, a rocket launcher, several grenades, 200 pounds of dynamite, 14 pounds of C-4 and four thousand feet of wiring to be used against Cuba.

Cuba says it arrested four Miami men plotting a ‘terrorist’ attack

A Cuban Interior Ministry statement said Miami residents Raibel Pacheco Santos, Obdulio Rodríguez González, Félix Monzón Álvarez and José Ortega Amador were arrested April 26 but gave few other details.
- -
Pacheco, 31, a Hialeah resident, registered a “Cuban Liberation Force Inc.” with the Florida Department of State in 2009 and listed its purpose as helping “the people in Cuba to win back their democracy and their lost liberties.”

The only post on its blog says the organization was “founded at the request of members of the armed forces who are inside Cuba, as well as members of organizations and the people” with its only goal being “the toppling of the regime.”
- -
The Interior Ministry statement late Tuesday said the four men detained in Cuba confessed that their plans for “terrorist actions” have been “organized under the direction” of Miami exiles Santiago Álvarez Fernández, Osvaldo Mitat and Manuel Alzugaray.

from the U.S. has nothing to do with the US obsession in claiming it's Cuba doing the terrorism. That's so pathetic. Everyone knows which country actually has the terrorism history. It's not the tiny island, by the way, living under the thumb of the most powerful country in the world, no matter how many lunatic try to sell that whopper to anyone who'll buy it.

Going back later to read those comments at the Herald. Thanks for the tip, they are always great for laughs, and involuntary gag reflexes! Thank you for the links.

Maybe the exiles should terrorize Cuba with some kind of germ/chem attack - Cuba's doctors are all over the world, and are spread so freaking thin, that now Cuba only has the highest Dr./citizen ratio in the world.

The bots and trolls are all over this.

I doubt any of us have ever been that disoriented, that confused in our own lifetimes, so it doesn't seem possible to us. It simply makes a person do an inner "double take" as in

Stuff we'd decry here in the US. At least most of us would.

I know when Occupiers were kettled, detained for a night, and released without charge the next morning (after being abused by the authorities and their minds messed with about whether they were going to face charges), we didn't like it.

I have no idea how anyone could compare the Occupy arrests with the arrest of terrorists with 30 automatic and semi-automatic machine guns, a rocket launcher, several grenades, 200 pounds of dynamite, 14 pounds of C-4 and four thousand feet of wiring. Not to mention their connection with Cuba's bin Laden (Orlando Bosch), Santiago Álvarez , Osvaldo Mitat and other such Miami based terrorist exile groups well known in Miami and Cuba! Shocking!

Some of these creeps learned their explosive skills while working for the CIA, and some in the military.

It was Rodolfo Frometa, of "F-4 Commandos" who bragged to people that when they were caught at sea, once, in a heavily fortified boat headed for mischief in Cuba, and were stopped, the FBI or the Coast Guard merely looked the other way.

Do you remember a Cuban far away from Florida, in Southern California who was discovered several years ago with his house filled with weaponry, claiming he, too, was planning violence against Cuba?

They all want to do something violent, something which gives them all the advantages, of course, and get hailed as a hero by the right-wing. Get their own street named for them, like Orlando Bosch?

Cuba foils attack plot, arrests 4 suspects
May 09, 2014

HAVANA: Cuba has arrested four Miami-based exiles suspected of planning attacks on military installations with the goal of promoting anti-government violence on the communist-run island, the Interior Ministry said.

Labelling the suspects as “terrorists,” it said in a statement that they were linked to Luis Posada Carriles, 86, a Cuban exile and former CIA operative living in Miami who for many years sought to overthrow former President Fidel Castro.

~snip~
At least two of the three other so-called masterminds, Santiago Alvarez and Osvaldo Mitat, have been active in the militant, anti-Castro exile movement. Both pleaded guilty in 2006 to criminal conspiracy in a plea deal to avoid more serious charges of possessing machine guns, a grenade launcher and thousands of rounds of ammunition.

Alvarez denied any link, saying he had never heard of the men who were arrested.

“This is just a bunch of lies,” Santiago Alvarez said. “They need to shift the blame from the economic situation they are in and entertain people with stories about Miami terrorists.”

Cuba gave information to US about four held in Florida for planning attacks

• US confirms 8 May meeting in Havana
• Cuba says four men were planning 'terrorist actions'

Associated Press in Havana
theguardian.com, Saturday 10 May 2014 14.36 EDT

US diplomats confirmed on Saturday that Cuban officials have given them some information about four Florida residents who were arrested on suspicion of preparing attacks against military installations on the island.

The US Interests Section in Havana issued a statement confirming the 8 May meeting with representatives of the Cuban ministry of foreign affairs. It said: "The Cubans provided some information about the allegations which we are now reviewing."

Cuba's interior ministry said the men – identified as José Ortega Amador, Obdulio Rodríguez Gonzalez, Raibel Pacheco Santos and Félix Monzón Álvarez – were detained on 26 April for planning "terrorist actions" against military installations, masterminded from Florida.

None of the four are well-known within the exile community in South Florida, but Cuba claimed they were acting on orders from others with a history of militancy, singling out Santiago Álvarez Fernández Magriñá, Osvaldo Mitat and Manuel Alzugaray in Miami.
