Related: About this forumCuban medics sent to Venezuela flee en masse to the US (Spanish)
http://www.lapatilla.com/site/2014/11/12/los-medicos-enviados-por-cuba-a-venezuela-huyen-en-masa-a-estados-unidos/-Every week about 15 cuban medics try to flee Venezuela for the US. In 2013, 700 left.
-Cubans only get 100 dolars at the official rate of 6 to one so thats about 600 Bs a month.
-Most profesionals go to the US but some go to Colombia and Brazil.
-Cuba receives between $1500 and $4000 per professional but the professionals only get $100 a month.
Indoctrination:
-Cuban medics and social missions contribute to the chavista indoctrination of Venezuelans particlarly the poorest and neediest. Cuban medics must tell their patients that in order to continue receiving social assistance they must vote for chavistas.

(6,837 posts)1. English article: Brazil prosecutor blasts ‘More Doctors’ program
http://www.washingtonpost.com/world/the_americas/brazil-prosecutor-blasts-more-doctors-program/2014/11/04/3e0e01a2-6461-11e4-ab86-46000e1d0035_story.html
A federal prosecutors office has alleged irregularities in the way Brazil pays Cuban doctors participating in a program set up to provide health care in remote areas, and is urging the country to pay the physicians directly rather than through their government.
In a statement issued late Monday, prosecutor Luciana Loureiro Oliveira blasted as frankly illegal an agreement among the Cuban and Brazilian governments and the World Health Organization. Under the setup, the programs Cuban doctors are paid about a fourth of what Brazil gives the Cuban government through the World Health Organization for their services.
While Brazil pays about $4,000 per month for each of the around 11,000 Cuban doctors in the program, Oliveira said it found a contract in which at least one of those doctors was getting only $1,000 a month.
The statement urged Brazil to pay the Cubans directly, instead of going through the WHO and the Cuban government, arguing the payment is an unfair labor practice.
