(Bloomberg) -- The Argentine investigator into the death of prosecutor Alberto Nisman said she’s calling on a former spy to testify this week. Finding the man who is an enigma, from his name to appearance, remains a challenge.

Antonio “Jaime” Stiuso, whose four decades inside Argentina’s intelligence agency ended in December, will be called on to explain his relationship with Nisman and their most recent communications, Viviana Fein told Radio La Red. The time, date and place for testimony is being decided in order to guarantee security for the former head of counter intelligence, Fein said later in a statement. Nisman called Stiuso on repeated occasions according to phone records, she said.

“To be prudent, we can’t just call him in to the prosecutor’s office at any time,” said Fein, who didn’t say whether they had successfully contacted Stiuso. “I want to see what relation he had with Nisman. We need to listen to Mr. Stiuso.”

Nisman, who was found dead with a single shot to the head in his apartment on Jan. 18, said in a television interview before his death that he was told to work with Stiuso in 2004 when he was put in charge of investigating the 1994 bombing of the AMIA Jewish community center that killed 85. Nisman died the day before attending a congressional hearing to explain his allegations that President Cristina Fernandez de Kirchner had tried to absolve Iranian officials from their alleged involvement in the bombing in return for trade benefits.

Last week when the prosecutor tried to call Stiuso in to testify, he wasn’t at any of the three houses registered in his name. Neither did he answer any of as many as 100 phone numbers he uses, according to his lawyer, Santiago Blanco Bermudez. He may not even be in Argentina, Blanco told TV channel TN Feb. 4.
