It is worth noting that Contreras is the wife of Diosdado Cabello, president of the National Assembly (AN) and vice president of the United Socialist Party of Venezuela (PSUV).

(2,035 posts)At this point, it's almost like the country belongs to 3 to 4 families now, kinda like in Game of Thrones; maybe each family will try to to off the other slowly to see who stays with the most power, just like in the show. Would make for an interesting political/crime drama, kinda like a combination of House of Cards and GoT

You think a military coup overthrowing Bill Clinton's dictatorial regime would've been cool?

Kinda funny how every time someone points something negative out regarding Chavismo, you have to bring up a US example to compare it with. I thought the US was the enemy, and that you'd prefer the governments you like to support show less US-like behavior in terms of politics. This latest move just shows how Chavismo is concentrating more and more power on smaller groups of people. Complete and utter centralization. That sure as hell ain't the socialist or democratic thing to do.
