BURLINGTON, Vt. -
Senator Patrick Leahy, D-Vermont, is back and talking about his historic trip to Cuba.
Historic, fascinating and emotional were words Leahy used to describe his trip last Friday to Cuba, to witness the opening of the United States embassy in Havana.
"I have been there many many times they invited Marcelle to join me on this historic occasion because she has been involved with a lot of behind the scenes work with the Cubans and with our own people to bring about this day," said Leahy.
Leahy, an avid photographer, took pictures during the ceremony, like one of the three marines who are now men close to 80-years-old, who 54 years ago were ordered to take down the American flag in front of the embassy.
