Colored Lights Illuminate the Celebrations for Mexico''s Independence

Colored Lights Illuminate the Celebrations for Mexico''s Independence

Mexico, Sep 10 (Prensa Latina) Energy efficient lights decorate today the Zocalo during celebrations for Mexico''s Independence Day.

Miguel Angel Mancera, head of government of the Federal District, activated last night the ignition lever.

Among the ornaments stand out tricolor ribbons (green, red and white), with the colors of the Mexican flag, and five murals that showcase various passages of the independence war that began in 1810 and ended on September 27, 1821.

Local media emphasize that unlike previous years, the five monumental murals, in which the faces of the heroes of the nation and the bell of Dolores, among other images, were made with 44,000 LED pixel lights.
