Rubio's Top Finance Guy is the "Vulture" Who Soaked Argentina for $4.65 Billion

Meet Paul Singer.

Republican presidential candidate Marco Rubio has tapped as his national finance chairman the “Vulture” who put the squeeze on Argentina for a $4.65 billion payback on his $50 million investment, according to investigative journalist Greg Palast, The Guardian, and other press reports.

Hedge fund billionaire Paul Singer, known as “The Vulture”, is set to become Rubio’s top money guy in a campaign that may reach its demise soon if the Florida senator can’t win the primary in his native state.

Singer, long a huge supporter of Rubio’s campaign, has been criticized around the world for his aggressive wheeling and dealing, both on Wall Street and in political circles, including his financial backing of neo-liberal Mauricio Macri’s rise to the presidency in Argentina.

Macri came into office vowing to respond to Argentina’s indebtedness to international lenders, which has led to major financial crises in the South American country. According to reports, Singer was able to score a $4.65 billion payment from Argentina out of a $50 million investment in old Argentine bonds.

Talking about this very topic:

The Vulture: How Billionaire Rubio Backer Paul Singer Made Billions off Argentina Debt Crisis

He grabs old debts of dying nations, dying companies, even dying people, and when there’s a famine or a war, for example, in Argentina, during the military dictatorship when Argentina went broke, he bought up old bonds for $50 million, just sold them back to the government of Argentina, a government he helped place in power, for two-and-a-half billion dollars. And he does this—he did this through what the Argentine government and the United States Treasury call extortion. He says, "If you don’t pay me, I’m going to stop you from borrowing money. I’m going to choke your nation to death." He even seized an Argentine naval ship on the high seas. I mean, he’s basically a privateer or pirate.

It's so good to see his comments, as he is driven to find and share the truth.

Not surprised to see he has been "on" to Singer for years.

Thank you, so much.

Well, I figured Rubio is Miami mafia. But Paul Singer!? He is the biggest bloodsucker of all, and rich beyond belief. He is out to break the sovereignty of Latin American countries. He is the Dark Vader of Money! He will kill an entire country's economy just for the thrill it gives him. Utterly power mad. Utterly money mad.

But it's odd he would pick Rubio for his tool. Paul Singer's stealth candidate. Interesting. He can certainly buy him the best 10 candidate-packaging firms on earth. But you gotta wonder what toxic energies would be injected into the U.S. political scene with Paul Singer shadowing Rubio. Rubio strikes me as a dunce (but, honestly, I've paid almost no attention to that gang of pricks). Wonder what Singer has in mind.

Here's a taste to what criminals like Singer and his pal Romney will do to the U.S. taxpayers and economy if left to their own devices:

Mitt Romney's blind-trust invested more than a million dollars in a "vulture fund" managed by Paul Singer, a Romney adviser. In 2008, while Delphi Auto Parts was in bankruptcy, Singer's fund bought, for twenty cents on the dollar, Delphi bonds - lots of them. With Delphi under Singer's control, he threatened to shut it down unless the taxpayer bailed it out - holding General Motors and Chrysler hostage, because if Delphi shut down, the companies would lack steering columns and other essential parts.

After getting his way, and a $7.3 billion bailout from the public, Singer then closed all but five U.S. plants to move these operations and 25,000 jobs to China (for a 3,000% return). Mitt Romney's investments in Singer's fund help make this loss of American jobs possible.

4. How could anyone be this conspicuously greedy? Like pornography, no redeeming value whatsoever.

No steering columns? They can work around that problem, can't they? Who cares? Phfffft.

Did not know of the ties between Mr. Personality and Singer. Unbelievable.

Thanks for this insight.
