Politician linked to Colombias record drug bust: report

A politician from the north of Colombia is the director of the company accused of trying to ship six tons of cocaine to Spain, newspaper El Tiempo reported Sunday.
Last weeks seizing of the six tons of cocaine, found in a container with scrap metal that was parked in the port of the port of Barranquilla, was hailed as the countrys largest drug bust in history.

El Tiempo found out that the director of Export World, the company of the drug-filled container, is Engler Pinilla, a former candidate for the hard-right Democratic Center party in the 2015 city council elections in the city of Santa Marta.
According to El Tiempo, authorities will interrogate Pinilla as well as others in the company to determine whether someone within the company was involved in putting the drugs in the container.
According to President Juan Manuel Santos, the drugs belonged to paramilitary organization AGC, called Glan del Golfo by the government.
