Venezuela opposition governors refuse to be sworn in

Venezuela's opposition said its newly-elected governors would refuse to participate Wednesday in a swearing in ceremony before the pro-government Constituent Assembly, which it does not recognize.

The Democratic Union Roundtable (MUD) said it would not allow its five governors to be subjected to "the blackmail of the fraudulent Constituent Assembly" after President Nicolas Maduro threatened to remove them from office if they refused.

"We will only be sworn in before God and the respective legislative councils and not before the fraudulent Constituent Assembly," the MUD said in a statement shortly before a special swearing-in session convened at the legislative palace.

The opposition had previously said it would not participate but doubts remained until shortly before the ceremony because of internal divisions.

The ANC has no standing. The only people who recognize the ANC are Chavistas in Venezuela and their sycophants abroad (Cuba, etc).

Example? Maduro needs a "payday lender", but he can't get hard currency (Yuan, Euro, Dollars, Yen, Ruble, Rupee, etc) because he needs the approval of the AN (not ANC) to do so. Maduro doesn't play well (err... at all) with non Chavistas, so he has to go hat in hand to seedy back-alley lenders (Goldman "hunger bond" Sachs, etc). The head of the AN has made it VERY CLEAR to lenders that their loans will not be honored once Chavismo falls if they are not approved by the AN. Now, even the vultures like Goldman Sachs won't lend him a dime.

Even Russia and China aren't loaning any more new money to Maduro. They realize it's throwing money down the shitter. They are just happy to get back what they are owed. (Venezuela defaulted on a $1 billion dollar loan to Russia in June and is attempting to "restructure" the loan before December)

In a nation laden with oil, there is little gasoline outside of Caracas. No LP "bombas". Sweet oil has to be imported so that it can be blended with the Sour oil Venezuela pumps up.

No food. No medicine. Medical care is nearly non-existent. Even the Cuban "doctors" are fleeing.
