Spring has arrived in Venezuela. BLACKOUT season! It's "dying time" again!

Yes... due to lusty iguanas who fornicate on transformers, and anti-Bolivarian/counter-revolutionary saboteurs (and not failure to maintain and upgrade the national power grid), the Venezuelan electrical grid is again in full meltdown mode.

prior to Chavez' election the government of Carlos Andres Perez had a massive program for improving electric generation and distribution in Venezuela. They actually began it with a huge success on Margarita island but then Chavez was elected. He promptly nationalized the system of Margarita island and cancelled all the rest of the very ambitious plan. Since then, it has been a one-two punch of "roba-roba" (unbridled robbery) and total neglect of an already overburdened and inadequate electric system leading to the current deplorable state of affairs.
