Any DUers living in Costa Rica? We are looking to locate near/on Lake Arenal.
Want to rent small house with a view. Anyone give us any tips on relocating or the area. Pitfalls and high points alike.
Thanks

(28,817 posts)There are more birds there than just about anywhere else. We want a view of an active volcano.
CR is nearly off the grid.
Very exciting to turn a new page. Going to sell off and become Hobos.
This was merely a very first step. There are chat rooms I know Thought I would try DU, too.
Ill post again.

(10,842 posts)Visit the Monte Verde Rain forest...some of the best beaches are on the Nicoya Peninsula.
Lots less tourists in the southern part of CR, around Golfito, the Corcovado National Park there is awesome. Also down south is Cerro Chirripó, CR's highest mountain, with forest & wildlife preserves, hiking trails, cloud forests & views. If you rent a car get a 4x4....the small Suzuki is a good deal. I prefer visiting Irazu volcano to Poas. Manuel Antonio park is very nice but very touristy.
