US Colonel Warns over Results of Invasion of Venezuela
Washington, May 10 (Prensa Latina) US Colonel Larry Wilkerson has warned that an invasion of troops in Venezuela would have a terrible effect on his country.
In statements to The Real News Network, Wilkerson, former chief of staff of former Secretary of State Colin Powell and now assistant professor of government and public policy at the College of William and Mary, highlighted the professionalism of the Venezuelan Army.
President Donald Trump should be very careful to say that he would send marines or soldiers to Venezuela because the Venezuelan army would immediately muster up. It would entrench in the hills and fight the US troops as the Vietnamese did during the Vietnam War, and as the Talibans are doing in Afghanistan right now, he said.
He pointed out that the policy against Venezuela is 'an example of US incompetence in its own hemisphere, without parallel.'
