Indigenous Cyclists in South America Express Support for Evo Morales

La Paz, August 22 (Prensa Latina) Indigenous cyclists from Colombia, Ecuador and Peru expressed their support for Bolivian President Evo Morales and highlighted on Thursday the development achieved in this country, as part of the Process of Change led by the indigenous leader since 2006.

The representative of the pedalists, Jose Negrete, expressed that they bring a letter from the peasant organizations of the region, who met in Quito, Ecuador, on June 11 and 12, and decided to give their support to the re-election of President Evo Morales.

In this moment, when neoliberalism seeks to reverse the changes achieved in our countries, Bolivia is an example, a beacon because it illuminates the rest of the continent. There is comrade Evo Morales, but fundamentally the Bolivian people, who are going to continue with the change in their elections, said Negrete.

The cyclists, 10 men and two women, left the Ecuadorian capital on Aug. 3 and arrived in Bolivia the day before, after traveling 2,137 kilometers with their message of unity and integration of the peoples, and of support for the Plurinational State's Process of Change.

According to the letter, addressed to the head of state of Bolivia, the objective of the meeting in Quito was to analyze the implications for the countries of the region of the imposition of the neoliberal model.

In addition, the socio-economic successes achieved in this country during the Morales administration were recognized.
