Supreme Court Justice Alexandre de Moraes authorized an investigation into the demonstrations held last Sunday (19). Attorney General Augusto Aras requested the investigation on Monday.

Aras' wants to investigate possible violations of the National Security Law by "acts against the Brazilian democracy regime by several citizens, including federal deputies."

"The Brazilian State admits the only ideology that is that of the participatory democracy regime. Any attack on democracy violates the Constitution and the National Security Law," said the attorney general, without mentioning President Jair Bolsonaro, who also participated in an act in Brasília.

Interlocutors of the attorney general say that initially, Bolsonaro will not be investigated. They warn, however, that they find evidence that the chief executive helped organize the demonstrations, he could be the target of the investigation.
