Fifty-seven people taken to the morgue in Caracas over the weekend

Fifty-seven people got killed last weekend in Venezuela, sources from the Scientific, Criminal and Forensic Investigation Agency (Cicpc) said off the record.

One of the victims was identified as Jonathan Rafael Martínez, 27, a taxi driver who was killed in his car on Sunday early afternoon.

Martínez was shot dead as he was waiting for a woman he had dropped a few moments before at her workplace at the headquarters of Venezuela's National Electrical Corporation (Corpoelec) in La Yaguara, southwest Caracas.

Another casualty, Carlos Eduardo Linares, 28, was shot dead also on Sunday afternoon as he was walking with his son, aged one and a half year, and his wife. Nobody knew where the shots came from.

Comandante Chavez is making sure that weapons are being taken away from the delinquents. Must be an aberration...
