An old memory thats mean so much to me......

Do you remember this?
http://www.c-span.org/video/?169924-1/french-election-results-analysis

In 2002 FRANCE got its first big " political earthquaque" as then incumbent Prime Minister and Socialist hepefull presidential candidate Lionel Jospin was harshly cheated out from the race, being not send to second round in profit of the then- leader of the nationalist and racist far right wing party National Front, and Marine's father, Jean Marie le Pen.

When I browsed you 2004 election archive, and after being reminded that one of the numerouf factors that made JK loose was the use by BushIncs and Co. of the fears of american poeple, notiourous fact thats a videotape of Bin Laden was shown and repeteadly brodcasted on the news four days before the pool opening, I want to telle you two things.

First, we also had to suffer that kind of method here then back. The media, who were in favor of Chirac, recalled all along the two days before election, a tagic " fait-divers" about an old man who was beaten up and his house burned by two holligans living in an immigrant's ghetto. Many pundits admitted after It played a huge part in defeating Jospin.

And secondly, Jospin himself, whom I personnaly loved and favoured, even if back then I was too young to vote, was described as aloof too, and to seroius and not reliable and a bad campaigner!!!!

Jospin was so upset he told in concession speech he vould walk away from politics after his tenure and so did he.

This event , on a personal level, is the one that drews me into activism and enlighted my passion for politics.

Sounds it weird that history can somewhat repeated itself, on an international level, huh?

Lets exchange!

I wonder if Bush and Rove found inspiration in our story, before airing thar "Bin Laden " tape ( witch was really bizarre.....)

that in 2002 I was not paying much attention to politics even in the US, let alone around the world, so I never heard of M. Jospin. But I have just looked him up in Google Images after reading your story, above, and I feel, looking at a page of photos of him that I instinctively feel he is the same kind of person that JK is -- he looks honest, direct and principled to me, just looking at his eyes. Now I know that is not exactly the most reliable method of assessing a complete stranger, but I bet I'm right!

Also, I even found a photo where he is in a posture that reminds me of one of JK's familiar attitudes!

Anyway, I like his face, this M. Jospin, and I'm sorry he was treated in France the way JK was here and that France had to suffer so much because they didn't understand what they were losing by rejecting him. I just had a funny thought -- just as JK was accused here of "looking French", did anyone there accuse Jospin of looking American?

but, in fact they sayed he was allof and so, and even, kind of like all the bullshit that said abour JK's activism, Jospin was accused of in the past have been a hard-communist. Yes lot of common things with JK. A real politicians he was. When he lost, I even wrote him a long letter, and he aswerded to me!!!!
