Retirement Investment Advice: Public Hearings on ‘Conflicts of Interest’ Proposal Start Aug. 10

Public Hearings on ‘Conflicts of Interest’ Proposal Start Aug. 10

by Tiffany Koebel on August 6, 2015

Monday, Aug. 10, marks the beginning of three-and-a-half days of public hearings on the department’s proposal to reduce conflicts of interest in retirement investment advice. Witnesses will present their views on the proposal. If you can’t make it to Washington to attend the hearing, the proceedings will be webcast live at dol.gov/live. Those who do plan on attending can find complete details in the Federal Register posting. The department’s headquarters, the Frances Perkins Building, is located right next to the Judiciary Square Metro station and is also served by several bus stops. Parking is not available at the building, but there are public garages in the area. More information on the rulemaking, including public comments, are available on the Employee Benefits Security Administration’s website.
