Ford to Build Plant in Mexico for Small Car Production in 2018.

Ford Motor Co. plans to spend $1.6 billion on a new car factory in Mexico, the latest in a series of auto industry investments flowing south of the border, and an investment that would help the Dearborn, Mich., company double its Mexican production starting in 2018.

It is the second big expansion announcement for Ford in Mexico in a year. The No. 2 U.S. auto maker last April outlined $2.5 billion in factory investments in Mexico, part of a wider plan to add 6,600 jobs in the country over the next few years. The new plant, in the central Mexican state of San Luis Potosi, would build small cars the company is struggling to sell at a profit.

Fiat Chrysler Automobiles NV also is moving a significant slice of its passenger car output out of the U.S. over the next 15 months, and devoting more U.S. capacity to profitable trucks and sport-utility vehicles.

General Motors Co. , while also emphasizing truck production, is continuing to build small cars in the U.S. On Tuesday, GM said it would scrap a plan to move some full-size car production to South Korea.

This tells me that the corporations feel confident that the up coming election will not shake up the status quo and it will be business as usual. Also the corporations may feel that the TTP is a go no matter how loud the little people shout.

Pimco Says Bill Gross Was Told He'd Lose $200 Million Bonus.

Bill Gross was warned he would lose his bonus if he quit Pacific Investment Management Co. before the end of the quarter, Pimco said in a court filing, challenging the central claim in his lawsuit against his former employer seeking hundreds of millions of dollars.

“He had no employment agreement, and he acknowledged that leaving Pimco before the end of the third quarter of 2014 would render him ineligible for the profit sharing payments he now claims he is owed,” Pimco said in a court filing Monday.

In its first response to the substance of Gross’s allegations in the state court suit in Santa Ana, California, Pimco says the fund manager met with Chief Executive Officer Douglas Hodge and general counsel David Flattum on Sept. 25, 2014, the day before his exit, and was informed that he wouldn’t get the bonus if he quit. He left a handwritten resignation note the next morning, according to the filing.
<snip>
Gross left behind a handwritten message “in the middle of the night, before walking out of Pimco’s offices for the last time,” saying his resignation was effective Sept. 26, 2014, at 6:29 a.m. Pacific time, according to Monday’s filing.
