8.8 million science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) jobs in May 2016

Look at the number for Pax River (NAS Patuxent River, which is next to Lexington Park, Maryland). There's no university nearby. It's a long way to College Park, where the University of Maryland is.

Maryland's public liberal arts college. Maybe not Navy types, for the most part.
Also not too far from UMES in Princess Anne.

I took a course at SMC, but its reputation has really grown since I was there.

We used to frequent an establishment in St. Mary's City known as The Green Door. The last I heard, it was still there.

I guess UMUC now provides long-distance learning. Electricity had been invented when I was at Pax River, but not much beyond that.
