1. Sharp reversals on Day One of a new year

are sometimes followed by 2-1/2 weeks down into the MLK holiday, or a gradual regaining of confidence and then an up move into late January.

Take your pick.

Personally I'll blend those 2 scenarios. The market was at all time highs, particularly Tech, so we're due for some profit taking, but the economy is so strong that it's not going down very far or very long.

I hope everyone who reads this is irritated by my hedged outlook. That's the point. Hedge and you'll do fine because you really don't know or only know what the past and statistical indicators can tell you.
