GM brushed off union concessions before idling Ohio car plant

The union hall in Lordstown, Ohio, is a hive of confusion, anxiety and anger. Mostly anger.

Three weeks after employees at the town’s General Motors Co. compact car plant assembled their last Chevrolet Cruze, employees are filing into the United Auto Workers Local 1112 hall to sign up for unemployment benefits and try to figure out if they should take a transfer to another GM plant, or wait it out in the one factory most have ever worked and see if it survives.

Union workers are livid that they agreed to make $118 million a year in annual concessions to save the plant in mid 2017, only to have GM effectively threaten to close it down a year and a half later. Unless GM reverses its course, Lordstown will fall victim to the harsh reality that fewer consumers are buying small cars and that Chief Executive Officer Mary Barra is hyper focused on doing business only where GM can earn big returns.

“Everything they asked us to do, we did,” said Dan Morgan, the shop chairman of Local 1112 and chief negotiator of the agreement, the details of which haven’t previously been reported. “And still, we don’t have a product to build.”

So who's surprised to see another huge trail of bullshit following a proclamation from IQ45?
We knew as soon as he opened his mouth that there would be a YUGE pile of bullshit falling out of it.
He makes all of these claims - he's gonna' save this - he's gonna' make them do that - and when it doesn't happen he finds someone to blame - because it could never be HIS fault!
Why is it taking SO long for these frickin' MAGAts to see the light?
And to think that they're all charged up again because one of his own insiders refused to release the Mueller report they think it means he's been right about it all?
My brain is just being stressed beyond reason...........

Then they can look down on those that can't stand tRump because they see themselves as winners for once in their lives. They are the type of person that never rooted for a favorite team. Their team was always the one that just won the championship and they love to rub it in the face of those who follow their hometown team through thick and thin. They truly are deplorable trolls.

and you can bet more will go to the dust bin by 2020. Sales are slowing and there is no reasonable expectation GM will not retrench, Ford is doing it and there is talk of another merger of Chrysler Fiat with Renault.
