COUNCIL BLUFFS — For the unemployed and underemployed, affording business clothing for an interview is sometimes a challenge.

"It's an unfortunate reality that a lot of people are judged by the way they look. First impressions are important on job interviews," said Erin Planalp, an AmeriCorps attorney for Iowa Legal Aid in Council Bluffs.

AmeriCorps members from Iowa Legal Aid and Family Inc. of Council Bluffs have teamed to hold a job interview-appropriate clothing drive to benefit the Micah House, a homeless shelter on the Charles E. Lakin Human Services campus at 1415 Ave. J.

The clothing drive is tied to Martin Luther King Jr. Day of Service projects throughout the country.
