Everett Ketchum, last of the historic Flint Sit-Down Strikers, passes at 98

Born November 6, 1914 in LeRoy, Michigan to Earl Ray and Ruth Maud Porter, passed away September 17, 2013 at the age of 98. He was raised in Flint, Michigan. Everett was married to Corrine Ormiston Ketchum from October 1950 until her death in May 1996. He was married to Virginia Karandjeff from May 1998 until her death May 2002.

Everett worked for General Motors primarily as a tool and die maker for 39 years and retired in 1975. He was a proud member of the UAW, Local 652. He participated in the Flint sit-down-strike in 1936-37, as noted in the book "Nothin' But Blue Skies" by Edward McClelland. He was a long-time resident of East Lansing. Everett enjoyed automobiles, golf, family and friends.
