San Jose Public Workers Succeed In Court Challenge To Pension Cut Ballot Question

Public workers in San Jose have won a court challenge of a city of San Jose ballot initiative aimed at cutting public worker pensions. An appellate court in San Jose ruled that the city’s ballot language is “partisan and prejudicial” and must be changed before being considered by voters. The court also sided with the plaintiff public worker unions striking language that said pensions need to be modified to make sure that essential city services are reserved.
