California Faculty Association votes to authorize a strike against the California State University

By a 95% majority, faculty, librarians, coaches, and counselors have voted to authorize an historic strike against the California State University, the largest public university in the U.S. We are still in the state mediated statutory post-bargaining process so the timing of a strike is still up in the air, but if the Board of Directors calls a strike it will likely happen at the beginning of fall semester.

This is a breaking story-- I'm on a conference call with CFA leadership as I type this.

For more information about the disputes between the CFA and the CSU, please visit the CFA website: www.calfac.org.

In solidarity,
Mike C.
