EPA's Climate-Related Webpages Now Just Plain Gone

EPA.gov pages that previously provided information about climate change have been changed from claiming that they are "updating" to an error message that reads, "We want to help you find what you are looking for," as revealed by a report released this week by the Environmental Data & Governance Initiative. The change indicates that information related climate change is not being “updated,” but removed entirely.

In April 2017, the EPA put out a press release announcing that EPA.gov would be changing to “reflect the agency’s new direction under President Donald Trump and Administrator Scott Pruitt.”

“The process, which involves updating language to reflect the approach of new leadership, is intended to ensure that the public can use the website to understand the agency's current efforts,” the April 2017 press release reads. “The changes will comply with agency ethics and legal guidance, including the use of proper archiving procedures.”

At that point, the EPA’s climate change subdomains were removed and were replaced by a page that said that the subdomains were being “updated.” The pages remained like this until the night between October 16 and 17, when the pages were updated to read “We want to help you find what you are looking for.”

how about building walls on our coasts that will save trillions of dollars in property costs and save a lot of American lives?

instead we are gonna waste money buildng a BS wall that stops people who can help us save our coastlines? We are fucked with Republican thinking.

Thank goodness the field of science still has allies in other countries who will share their research and info with us. I hate the fucking moron infinitely.

last year in a nearby university community. When I say "town hall," I mean it. We invited our so-called tea party Congressman, Adam Kitzinger, and he failed to attend. Questions were addressed to a life-sized cutout of him.

A couple of scientists from the university asked questions. One of them addressed the crowd and mentioned all the data that was disappearing from the EPA. He said that much of it was being sent to scientists in Canada and other friendly countries. When we restore our democracy, the data will be there, waiting for our scientists. It will not be lost.

This was a clever idea. Scientists are pretty smart and knew who would help us. I bet a lot of govt agencies are doing similar things. Malcolm Nance said that if Mueller's report is kept secret from the public a truck from Miller's office will drop a palette full of all the copies of his report at the doors of the NY Times. They also have it backed up digitally, etc so their investigation isn't destroyed.
