(10,745 posts)As far as he's concerned, AGW might as well be the stuff of Harry Potter or Tolkien tales........while all the legitimate climate science explicitly tells us that human activities are affecting the climate, now!

(21,088 posts)In blocking it's northward movement and helping it turn west - maybe jet stream disruptions at work. The barometrics were awesome too. We're seeing bunches of records set and it's not even half over. The Battery gauge in NYC is showing almost 9 feet of surge right now - 13.54 feet of water...

(1,553 posts)I was thinking the same thing, but unable in my mind to visualize the necessary shift in both water and air currents. And how does the inland low cold front effect the path? There is a lot at play in this storm, and it appears a lot of norms are changing.
At any rate with the low barometer, it can only mean more water inundation.

(59,587 posts)Let's never forget that this storm struck the Epicenter Of See-yun that is New York.
Well, actually, that would probably be San Francisco, but you get the drift - it's a Godless Nest of Sodomites and Liberals and 24/7 Abortion Quik-Trips, so Sandy is obviously a manifestation of the Wrath of Gaw-duh (TM).
Why pull all that complicated (and phony, fixed) science into the mix when the Wrath of Gaw-duh (TM) is so much easier?
Note: Wrath of Gaw-duh (TM) not to be invoked in the event of major tornado outbreaks, record-breaking droughts or other disasters to which southern Plains states may be subjected. Improper use of Wrath of Gaw-duh in such cases may provoke dizziness, incoherence and increased cognitive dissonance.
