AZ: Some farmers may qualify for emergency government loans

Farmers in 12 Arizona counties, including Yuma, may qualify for emergency government loans after the U.S. Department of Agriculture declared the central part of the state a natural disaster area due to a lingering drought.

The government declared Apache, Maricopa, Navajo and Pinal counties natural disaster areas last week due to a severe to extreme drought for more than eight weeks. The declaration also was extended to eight surrounding counties that include Yuma. Other contiguous counties included in the declaration are Coconino, Gila, Graham, Greenlee, La Paz, Pima and Yavapai.

Farmers in those counties who cannot qualify for commercial loans can now apply for a low-interest government loan.

The U.S. Drought Monitor says that farms in severe drought areas are likely to lose crops or areas of pasture, experience water shortage and face more water restrictions.

Brewer has suddenly had a sea change. Arizona is in a sea of deep doodo, besides the drought hurting her voter base,no new business or industry has relocated to her state since the Rethugs went all in against the Brown People. Elections do have consequences and Arizona is the picture postcard of what it is like when the Teabaggers get control.

taxation and "redistribution of wealth" they should be barred from profiting in any way from it.

These people just LOVED all these programs until the courts said colored folks could benefit, too.

It is to bad the some people have to suffer because they are caught in the middle. The only thing that should happen that people wake up and make better decisions about their future.

California is taking care of their future and increased taxes to pay the bill. There are to many poor people who require aid to make their lives a little better and the fat cats better be paying their fair share.
