Masuzoe projected to win Tokyo gubernatorial election in landslide

Backed by the ruling coalition, former health minister Yoichi Masuzoe was projected to overwhelmingly win the Tokyo gubernatorial election on Feb. 9, according to exit polls conducted by The Asahi Shimbun.

The landslide will show that calls by other candidates to end Japan's dependence on nuclear energy did not register with Tokyo voters.

Among those who had called for an immediate halt to nuclear power generation was Morihiro Hosokawa, a former prime minister, and Kenji Utsunomiya, a former president of the Japan Federation of Bar Associations.

...snip...

The exit polls found that a large majority of respondents favored only a gradual move toward phasing out nuclear power, rather than an immediate stoppage.

I know you're depressed about how badly the referendum on nuclear power in Japan went... but perhaps you could express it without ignorantly insulting an entire culture?
