Bipartisanship! Both Landrieu & Her Likely GOP Replacement United In Oppositon To EPA Ozone Plan

WASHINGTON -- Congressional Republicans promised Wednesday to fight new EPA regulations that would lower ground-level ozone standards, warning of huge hits to the American economy.

"This is said to be the most costly and expansive regulation for Louisiana's energy and manufacturing industries," said Rep. Bill Cassidy, R-Baton Rouge who is running for the Senate in Louisiana's Dec. 6 runoff election against Democratic incumbent Mary Landrieu. "Louisiana workers are the ones who will feel these costs. More than 100,000 jobs will be threatened. Families' gas and grocery bills could increase. Despite this, President Obama doesn't seem to care. I oppose these regulations. We should be rolling out the red carpet for these energy jobs, not the red tape."

On Wednesday, the Obama administration said it is moving forward with delayed regulations to reduce ozone emissions, saying it leads to smog responsbile for asthma, heart disease and premature deaths.

On Oct 24, Landrieu told the Louisiana Chemical Association and the Louisiana Chemical Industry Alliance that she opposes new EPA ozone regulations because of the economic impact they would have on Louisiana. She repeated that opposition on Wednesday. "Earlier this month, the American people sent a clear message that they want their elected leaders and government to create economic opportunity and high-paying jobs for middle class families," Landrieu said. "The EPA's action today does the exact opposite. It will halt billions of dollars and the thousands of jobs being created in Louisiana right now. Parishes across Louisiana would not easily meet these new and unrealistic standards that would make it nearly impossible to take full advantage of our energy revolution."

Except in some weak moment Blanche gave us health insurance. She paid dearly for not standing up sooner; but actually Mary is turning into (?) a puke stooge.
