Antarctica: The Beginning of the End...

---SNIP---
As this trend accelerates our world. as we know it, will be re-mapped. A four-foot sea level rise will mean no more Florida Keys and no Miami Beach -- the New York City subway system and parts of NYC, under water.

The same alarm bells that were rung for Greenland are now being rung for Antarctica. The results will be exponentially worse. We are talking 70% of the planet's fresh water. Imagine being in Manhattan watching skyscrapers and apartment building collapsing around you every day. This is what scientists are witnessing in WA currently. Nary a word is reported. Hillary at Chipotle wins that prize last week.

So what exactly is being done to address this Antarctic crisis? President Obama feels the urgency: "This is the first generation to feel the impact of climate change and the last with the opportunity to do something about it." But it falls on deaf ears with the loyal opposition.

Would you care to trade your "Three Weeks of Exciting Blood Loss from Holes You Didn't Even Know You Had" card for the prize behind Door #3, or perhaps you'd like to try for the enticing envelope my lovely assistant is holding?

What's that? You hope there's enough Gigabux in the envelope to buy a case of moldy ramen from 2022 and some rainwater with a pH greater than 2.7 to boil it in?

Just for fun, let's see what was behind Door #3! Ooooh! It looks like you just barely missed a dinner date with a gang of feral teenagers, and YOU were on the menu! Quick, studio audience; put an end to them before they return the favor!

OK, Politicalboi! I bet after all that first class gore and excitement, you can't wait to see what prize is waiting for you in the envelope! Could it be a seven day, six night stay at the last resort (tm) -- literally -- at the south pole? How about a fully refurbished 1985 Yugo GL and a bridge to drive it on (catastrophic bridge failure insurance a great idea, assuming anyone still sold it!).

Well... it appears that your prize is... missing ground zero in a thermonuclear exchange by three fun-filled miles! Yes, that's right, you and a guest will have your prayers ALMOST answered when the bombs all fly! Starvation and radiation sickness are guaranteed to thrill and stimulate you until your last cries for mercy are answered in just three short weeks!

This is Pat Spaysnack and Vanna Wight saying SO LONG!

at this point. If we reduced out emissions to ZERO tomorrow, the warming trend would continue for decades. At this point feedback loops are starting to kick in, and the planet is going to heat well beyond the catastrophic threshold.
