The entire effort has been a clusterf*%k for the drive to eliminate carbon.

There was a lot of fanfare by the "We must have nuclear to deal with climate change" folk when a couple of prominent environmental writers get behind the nuclear program in the UK. They were warned what would happen and they dismissed the warnings with delusional responses about people being afraid of radiation. I say delusional because the arguments presented to them were based on easy-to-anticipate outcomes that dividing the climate response effort would have. As the Guardian article below detains, the damage has been done.
