On Good Morning America just now -

in a story they said would put us in the "Christmas Spirit" - an employee at a drive in window (some kind of fast food I don't recall which) admired a customer's mink coat. The customer promptly gave it to the employee. This is being hailed as an act of kindness. They weren't so kind to the minks! Plus the $10,000 the coat is worth, would have been a lot more good being given to a group that helps the homeless. (I've been told at protests - "why don't you do something for the homeless?" I say "You weren't thinking of the homeless when you bought that coat!')
