Trumps big insult today to Australia

Trump’s big ‘insult’ to Australia

Trump’s snub of PM shows just how much Australia means to him;
Trump hours late for meeting with Australian Prime Minister in New York City.

NO doubt it is an insult, the sort you toss out recklessly and indulgently.

US President Donald Trump has put a single legislative victory ahead of giving his blessing and attention to a close, 75-year relationship with Australia.

Mr Trump has kept Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull waiting in New York while Trump whoops it up in Washington over the passage in the House of Representatives of legislation to abolish the health care scheme of predecessor Barack Obama.

But it was also a comment on the weight he gives to the engagement with Australia.

Prime Minister Turnbull, who timed his trip to match the schedule set by the President, will get briefings by security officials, a New York dinner, and maybe (finally) just half an hour with the President.

I'd up an leave (I'm sure he has better things to do) and tell cheeto hombre to pound sand.

...Actually, I'd probably wait until he walked in the door, then I'd have my entourage quickly shuttle me out of the building.

No handshake...and hopefully in front of the press.
