For the past few months, Russia has been on an offensive in Ukraine. It has been successful in the sense that Russian troops have gained ground. It has been less the optimal from the Kremlin's perspective because those gains have come about slowly. So why is Ukraine losing ground, and why isn't Ukraine losing more ground?
