A Russian military court announced the arrest of Major General Ivan Popov, former commander of the 58th Combined Arms Army. Popov is accused of "large-scale fraud," allegedly stealing over 1,700 tons of metal worth over 130 million rubles. These materials were meant for constructing defense fortifications in the Zaporizhzhia region. Instead, the money reportedly vanished into Popov's pockets.
