Polish president strips Zelensky of country's highest state honour TVP World News TVP WORLD NEWS

Polish President Karol Nawrocki has decided to strip his Ukrainian counterpart, Volodymyr Zelenskyy, of Poland's highest state honour, the Order of the White Eagle. The decision follows a diplomatic row after Zelenskyy named a Ukrainian special forces unit after the UPA, the Ukrainian Insurgent Army, which Poland holds responsible for the World War II killing of around a hunder thousand Polish civilians. Critics warn the dispute plays into the hands of Russia's Vladimir Putin.

Since the start of Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine in February 2022, Moscow has reportedly lost some 1,400,000 troops, according to Ukraine’s Armed Forces General Staff.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has issued a stark warning to Belarus, demanding that military equipment near Ukraine's border be withdrawn within a week or, he says, Kyiv will act.

A Ukrainian man in uniform walks into a bar, and sees an American, a Frenchman, a Brit, and a Pole - all young guys in good shape that looked as though they had military training.

"Thank goodness!" he thinks - and introduces himself, asking them if they'll join him in fighting for his country at Mariupol.

"You bet, buddy!" the American says. "This fight is for truth, justice - and the American way. Count me in!"

"Absolument!" says the Frenchman. "Zis fight is for ze dignity of man, and ze human condition. Allons-y!"

"Right you are, my good chap." the Englishman adds. "It's about bloody time we give those bloody Russkies a bloody nose!"

"Sure," says the Polish guy, shrugging bit. "I'm lonely, and my mother is always telling me that I need to Marry-a-Pole."
