One dead, nine wounded in Jaffa terror attack

One person was murdered and nine others were wounded in a terror attack at two nearby locations in Jaffa early Tuesday evening; the terrorist was neutralized by a police force that arrived at the scene.

The terrorist arrived at the Jaffa Port, where he stabbed three people. He then continued towards the restaurant Manta Ray, where he stabbed four others.

Four of the wounded were taken to the Ichilov hospital at the Tel Aviv Sourasky Medical Center - two of them in serious condition and two in moderate condition, while three were taken to the Wolfson Medical Center in Holon - one arrived DOA, another was in serious condition and one in moderate condition. Three were taken to the Sheba Medical Center in Tel Hashomer, two of them in moderate condition and one in light condition.

Earlier in the day, a terrorist opened fire with a Carl Gustav rifle at police officers operating on Salah e-Din Street near Herod's Gate in Jerusalem's Old City, wounding one of them seriously. The terrorist then escaped, and as a police and Border Police force was pursuing him, he fired at them and seriously wounded another policeman.

“The current wave of terrorism is a 'promo' of what will happen after the Palestinian Authority (PA) collapses. Most scenarios that deal with the day after its President Mahmoud Abbas (Abu Mazen) leaves office predict a lack of orderly succession, an internal succession struggle, anarchy and the breakup of the PA. Israeli citizens, especially [settlers] in Judea and Samaria, will pay the price for anarchy in the PA. We must prepare for more difficult attacks. The collapse of the Authority is not a question of 'if' but 'when'.” These are the words of the Minister of Immigrant Absorption, Ze'ev Elkin, the man with the highest IQ in the Knesset. The conclusion is almost banal. Elkin sees a direct link between the “stabbing intifada” and the collapse of the Palestinian Authority, and rightly so. Although the Palestinian Authority and Hamas are not interested in a confrontation with Israel, they are unable to stop the wave of attacks. This is a clear sign that the PA is losing what is left of its control over the Palestinian public.

Pardon me for saying so ...but I think my reply is way over your capabilities of understanding of anything to do with the I/P conflict .

12. The PA collapsing (Abbas going) is not an argument for the 2-state solution...

What your article implies is that as soon as Abbas is gone, peace deal or not, everything unravels. Which just demonstrates exactly what Rightwingers have contended all along about the futility of a peace process.

For one, he doesn't explain how the collapse of the PA leads to one state, it's his main assertion and he doesn't even bother to provide any mechanism or natural process where that would happen.

Frankly if the PA collapses and the WB degenerates into chaos and anarchy doesn't it make a lot more sense to integrate the Palestinian Arab community with their brethren in J0ordan? They hate Israelis and Jews, why would they want to be part of a Jewish country or is the Jewish part going to go away like magic? The author doesn't explain how that is going to happen, will the Palestinians "vote" out the rabbinate and replace it with Muslim ulema? You see how stupid that sounds? Masorti women can't even pray at the kotel without the rabbinate losing their shit, literally saying that the world is coming to an end but this yahoo author thinks one state will arise because the Palestinians have failed, since the end of WWII, to create their own.

The PA will not dissolve of course, because it exists primarily as a conduit for international donations to the tune of 1.5 billlion dollars per year. If they have to, the Palestinians will "appoint" a ventriloquist doll as chairman just to keep the welfare money flowing, then the various faction leaders can take turns speaking for the Palestinians and keep pocketing the money from the West for the rest of eternity.

would bring it's share of upheaval. Biden is a very strong supporter of Israel, always has been, always will be. This was probably a message to him.

That's patently ridiculous although I'm sure others will give the terrorist the benefit of the doubt.

6. update: American tourist dead, 11 wounded in Jaffa terror attack
Tue Mar 8, 2016, 05:06 PM
Mar 2016

Three terror attacks hit the cities of Jaffa, Jerusalem and Petah Tikvah within an hour and a half on Tuesday afternoon and early evening, with one person murdered and 14 wounded.

A 29-year-old tourist from the US was murdered and eleven others were wounded in a terror attack at the Jaffa Port area early Tuesday evening. The terrorist, a 22-year-old Palestinian from Qalqilya, was shot to death by a police force that arrived at the scene.

Following the attack in Jaffa, the Israel Police decided to increase its presence and operations in Tel Aviv-Jaffa. The Tel Aviv District Police will also hold a situation assessment attended by Public Security Minister Gilad Erdan, Police Commissioner Roni Alsheikh and the Tel Aviv District Commander Moshe Edri.

The terrorist arrived at the Jaffa Port, where he stabbed several people. He then turned right, running towards the Clocktower Circle, then turned left and continued running hundreds of meters north along the boardwalk towards the Manta Ray restaurant, stabbing others as he went. US Vice President Joe Biden was in the area at the time of the attack - visiting the Peres Center for Peace located approximately a mile away (2 kilometers) from where the first stabbing occurred.

It's nice that VP Biden has responded forcefully, but this would be a really good moment for PBO to call out those who refuse to acknowledge the reality of the terrorism Israel is dealing with every day and the dishonesty and incitement of the Palestinian leadership and the MSM that regurgitates the lies to the world public.
